NATO has in fact got involved in the conflict in Ukraine but it is in no way affecting Russia’s goals, Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov told Rossiya-1 on Sunday.
"In fact, NATO has got involved in the Ukrainian conflict. However, it is in no way affecting our goals. That said, the operation will continue and we will go through with it," he said in an interview with host of the "Moscow. Kremlin. Putin" TV program Pavel Zarubin.
"Apparently, it is making us mobilize our economic and other forces. The Kiev regime is one thing but NATO’s potential is another thing. It means an additional burden. However, our potential makes us capable of continuing the operation in this situation," Peskov noted
Ukraine’s actions in Kherson region limited to shelling
The actions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which on Saturday launched a counteroffensive in the Kherson region, so far include only shelling, deputy governor of the region Kirill Stremousov said on Saturday.
"Despite the shelling of the defense line, which is located in the Dudchan area, …, the counteroffensive that the Armed Forces of Ukraine tried to launch today is limited to shelling," he said.
He said earlier on Saturday that the active phase of the offensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine started in the Kherson region, but the Russian army is ready to repel the attacks. "Our army is ready to repel all these attacks, to stand to the end. The Kherson region is a full-fledged subject of the Russian Federation," he said in an interview with Solovyov.Live.
The new directive of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation on special operations, the main points:
- During the day, the RF Armed Forces carried out an attack on the objects of the military command and energy systems of Ukraine, the goal was achieved, all objects were hit
- In the Kupyansk direction, attempts to attack the 92nd mechanized brigade of the Ukrainian troops were thwarted, up to 50 soldiers were destroyed
- Three American M777 howitzers destroyed near the village of Zagryzovo, Kharkiv . region
- In the Kharkiv region, the crossing over the Oskol River, built by Ukrainian troops, was destroyed for the advancement of reserves and supplies of ammunition

- In the direction of Zaporozhye, Russian troops seized the dominant altitude in the Neskuchny area of the DPR, more than 40 Ukrainian military were destroyed.
- There were about 3 Ukrainian battalions in the direction of Krivoy Rog, including tanks, they tried to break through the defenses of the Russian Federation near Koshary and Pyatikhatkok, positions were held, more than 250 Ukrainian soldiers were destroyed, 11 tanks
- Drone strike destroys four Ukrainian troop "Zoo" reconnaissance radar stations and US-made AN/TPQ-36 counter-battery combat station
- More than 350 Ukrainian soldiers, 11 tanks, 18 armored fighting vehicles were destroyed in the direction of Nikolaev-Krivoy Rog in a day
- Five Ukrainian ammunition depots were destroyed in the Kherson region, DPR, as well as in the shipyard area of the city of Zaporozhye
In the Kherson region, the protection of the Kakhovskaya hydroelectric power station has been strengthened to avoid provocations from Ukraine, regional authorities told RIA Novosti.
